Jazz singer Nancy Wilson a three-time Grammy Award-winner was born on February 20, 1937, in the city of Chillicothe, Ohio. Her parents were ironworker Olden Wilson, and former Lillian Ryan who worked as a housekeeper. Nancy was the youngest of six siblings. Nancy grew up listening to the records of her father and his passion for music. At the age of four, Nancy knew that she wanted to be a musician. She began to develop her talent by participating in choirs of the church. She won a TV-talent show in her 15th year and then began performing regularly on the tv series Skyline Melodies while still in high school. In the same year, she began to perform in nightclubs. Nancy, then 17, had graduated high school, and then matriculated at Ohio Central State College (now Central State University) for a year before quitting to sing. The first time she recorded was with the Rusty Bryants Carolyn Club Big Band, with whom she performed from 1956 until 1958. Nancy started recording with Dot Records in 1956, while with the group. Cannonball addederley advised her to relocate in New York for her career and, in 1959, she relocated to The Big Town. In just a few months, she was offered an offer to sing at The Blue Morocco Night Club situated on Boston Road in The Bronx where Adderley's agent heard her, and she was signed. Capitol Records released 5 Nancy Wilson albums over a two-year period. Adderley encouraged her to shift away from R&B to the torch and jazz genres. It was this performance that brought her to the stage in the New York Coconut Grove in 1963, which was America's biggest nightclub.
Maisie Richardson Sellers is an actor that is active in TV and film. She played the lead character of Chloe Winthrop, in Netflix's film The Kissing Booth.
