Jazz singer Nancy Wilson a three-time Grammy Award-winner was born on February 20, 1937, in the city of Chillicothe, Ohio. Her parents were ironworker Olden Wilson, and former Lillian Ryan who worked as a housekeeper. Nancy was the youngest of six siblings. Nancy grew up listening to the records of her father and his passion for music. At the age of four, Nancy knew that she wanted to be a musician. She began to develop her talent by participating in choirs of the church. Cannonball addederley advised her to relocate in New York for her career and, in 1959, she relocated to The Big Town. In just a few months, she was offered an offer to sing at The Blue Morocco Night Club situated on Boston Road in The Bronx where Adderley's agent heard her, and she was signed.
