April Ross
April Ross was one of just a handful of women beach volleyball players who have won medals at more than one Olympics. She will be competing in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal alongside Alix Klineman, a first-time Olympian. In addition, Ross will be aiming for her first Olympic gold. At 39, this could be her final chance to win the Olympic gold. Still confident but she is not sure. Ross was mentioned in NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very highest, and even do well, we'll get the gold. Also, I'll take some chance. Ross was born August 22nd, 1982 located in Costa Mesa California. She lived there together with her parents. Apart from competing in various sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as track and running. She stood out however during this game. Her college biography states that she played outside of the hitter, middle blocker, and setter during her volleyball career in high school. In recognition of her work she was named in 1999 as the Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. In addition, she was awarded the 1999 Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. While Ross Klineman and Ross are in the spotlight from 2017 onward, the former was already an established player on the beach scene prior to their team. It's true that she has had the chance to win numerous events, one of which was with the legendary player of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 until 2013. She also coached Klineman as well as herself. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the World Championships of 2009. They went through to take home a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends who won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, beat each other to take home the gold medal. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. They were able to win the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a student athlete with the Trojans of USC prior to her pro career. She played in high school and in some years before she hit the beach as a professional. She had a great run during her time in the college. In 2000, she was named Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman Of The Year, and was also an All-American. The Trojans were also able to get to the Final Four with her help. Her sophomore year was the time she suffered a tremendous personal loss but still managed to repeat as an All-American. In her last two years in the Trojans program, she coached them to a national title every time. In 2003-2004, Ross was named the top female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the United States by The Honda Sports Award. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the opportunity to see her daughter become an international beach volleyball star. Ross's mother passed away from breast carcinoma in 2001. Ross had just become a second-year student at USC. This meant that Ross remains close to her parent who died. Margie is a beach lover as well as in her everyday life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
