Aaliyah Dana Haaughton gained fame after releasing her first album Age Ain't Nothing More Than a Number in 1994. The singer was barely fifteen when her debut album was released as Gold. R. Kelly heavily influenced this collaboration, and helped to bring her into the spotlight. In 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland came out with Aaliyah's sophomore album One In A Million. It featured If Your Girls Only Knew, the single that was most popular. Following the debut of the album Aaliyah received international recognition for her performance as an R&B artist. However, she uses both Aarti Mann as well as Aarti Majumdar for professional name. Though she started her career by playing minor film and television parts, her acting career started to gain speed in the late 2000s. Some of her most notable roles include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. Her commercials have featured big brands, like Volvo. She is a resident of Los Angeles where she continues to perform as an actor.
